Endless Problems with Comcast Internet Service

Not a week goes by that we do not experience some kind of problem with our Comcast cable internet service. Since i work from home, when my connection breaks, so does my ability to service my clients.
I call and call, and all I get is hold time and ignorant staff. The technicians who come visit don’t know how to trouble shoot, and they cannot seem to understand that the problem is most likely at the head end or with the intervening cable plant. I also note that the problem happens for a while, then dies away after about an hour, probably after Comcast gets a slew of calls from irate customers, and they reset the hardware at their end. Seriously incompetent operation. Even the voice prompts are broken during call-in.
